Philadelphia made headlines in the offseason with all of the free agents they signed but there is a weakness that the Giants will look to exploit. The Eagles have not been good against the run since Reggie White, Jerome Brown, and Clyde Simmons were around. This year is not shaping up to be any different and the Eagles are near the bottom of rushing defense averaging 146 yards/game to opposing RBs. The main problem is a completely inept LB crew that includes rookie Casey Matthews. Although there is a shake up this week with second year LB Jamar Chaney getting a start but this change will not change the trend.
Ahmad Bradshaw
While Bradshaw is a good running back his history against Philly is not tht good. In 2010 Bradshaw was not able to get into the endzone and in his entire career he has only 4 TDs, 2 rushing and 2 receiving.
Bradshaw is still a start because the Eagles are just so bad against the run and with still Eli Manning struggling with ints the ground game will be the focus.
Brandon Jacobs
In 12 career games Jacobs has racked up only 486 yards and 4 TDs. Jacobs has not had a chance to get rolling this year behind Bradshaw but the running game will be the focus in this matchup. I like Jacobs chances of a TD this week.
Jake Ballard
I know, Jake who?? Surely there are better options at TE but the Eagles are just so bad a covering TEs he may be worth a look if you are struggling with this position. Last week the Eagles made Tony Gonzalez look like a youngster again allowing him 7 catches for 83 yards and 2 TDs.
Analysis
Eli Manning is turning the ball over way too much and this is a game the Giants desperately need to win. Not to mention the advantage of slowing down the Eagles speed attack. Both Bradshaw and Jacobs are viable in flex positions and Bradshaw is a possible low end #2 RB.
As for Ballard, I would advise starting him over TEs like Dallas Clark, Greg Olsen, and Ben Watson.
