Start and Sit : Week 2

Week 2 FFBlitz Start/Sit List

Note: Players like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Adrian Peterson, will not appear on our weekly start/sit list. Our experts will provide you some less obvious selections.

Start QB’s:

Rex Grossman QB, Redskins vs. Cardinals: See Cam Newton’s performance against this defense last week.

Ben Roethlisberger QB, Steelers vs Seahawks: Will want to rebound from last week’s terrible game. Seahawks come to town…. Just what the doctor ordered.

Tony Romo, QB, Cowboys vs 49ers: Great game on the road against great defense last week, outside of the last 5 minutes. This week will be a sixty minute effort against San Francisco

Michael Vick, QB, Eagles vs. Falcons: Falcons couldn’t stop the Bears last week. The Georgia Dome may be Matt Ryan’s house now, but for four hours this coming Sunday night, it will be Vick’s house again.

Sit QB’s:

Kerry Collins QB, Colts vs. Browns: Collins was brutal last week against the Texans questionable defense. Won’t get better here.

Donovan McNabb QB (kind of) Vikings vs. Buccaneers:   Vikings fans will soon long for the good old days of Tavaris Jackson. McNabb threw for 39 yards more than you did last week against the Chargers, despite having AP in his backfield.

Matt Ryan, QB Falcons vs. Eagles: Tough, tough spot with favorite son Michael Vick coming home. Passing is the strength of the Eagles defense.

Start RB’s:

James Starks, RB Green Bay Packers vs. Panthers: Starks is starting to wrestle the job away from Ryan Grant. Big day against Panthers.

Peyton Hillis, RB Cleveland Browns vs. Colts: The Browns offensive line, one of the biggest in the league, will lean on the Colts undersized defensive line all day. Hillis will have easier treading as the game wears on.

Ray Rice, RB Baltimore Ravens vs. Titans: Last week, Ray Rice made last year’s number one rushing defense look like that college team defense from “Necessary Roughness.”   The Titans defense isn’t as good as the defense from “Necessary Roughness.”

Rashard Mendenhall, RB Steelers vs. Seahawks: Rashard and the rest of the AFC Champion Steelers are just going to pretend that the season starts this week.

Tim Hightower, RB Redskins vs. Cardinals: Always good when a player has a chance for revenge against the team that threw him out, like the Flintsone’s cat.

Cedric Benson, RB Bengals vs Broncos: Broncos last rated running defense from last year, lived up to that standard against the Raiders. C-Benz will roll.

Michael Turner, RB Falcons vs Eagles: I hope some Falcons offensive staff are reading this. Eagles have best group of pass defenders in the game. How ‘bout we take them out of the game by lining up with three tight ends and one receiver and run at them all day? Turner will have a good day.

Sit RB’s:

Maurice Jones-Drew, RB Jaguars vs. Jets: Ok, playtime is over against Tennessee. Luke McCown is the QB, and you’re going against one of the league’s best defenses. MJD sits.

Marshawn Lynch, RB Seahawks vs. Steelers: Steelers proud defense embarrassed last week. Won’t happen two weeks in a row. Lynch runs into a buzzsaw.

Ryan Matthews, RB Chargers vs. Patriots: This guy is backing up Mike Tolbert everywhere except on the paper that the Chargers depth chart is written on. However this game will be played on grass, not paper.   Sit Mathews.

Start WR’s

Stevie “Wonder” Johnson, WR Bills vs. Raiders: Raiders D made Eric Decker a star last week.

Robert Meachem WR, Saints vs Chicago: With Colston and Moore out, is Robert the number one receiver? Either way, he’ll start.

Anquan Boldin, WR Ravens vs. Titans: Titans D will struggle.

Desean Jackson, WR Eagles vs. Falcons: Big night in the Dirty South.

Mike Wallace, WR Steelers vs. Seahawks: Only Steeler with a decent fantasy line last week. He will continue.

Mario Manningham, WR, Giants vs. Rams: Nicks could be out. Either way, not 100%.

Sit WR’s:

All Vikings WR’s: What’s 39/3?

Hakeem Nicks WR, Giants vs Rams: Nicks not 100%. Rams D better than people think.

Braylon Edwards/Michael Crabtree, WR’s 49ers, vs Cowboys: Bench any member of 49ers passing game until further notice.

Mike Sims-Walker, WR Rams vs. Giants: Amendola out, Bradford banged up equals tough sledding Walker.

Start TE’s:

Jerimichael Finley, GB

Dustin Keller, NYJ

Anthony Fasano, MIA

Sit TE’s

Brent Celek, PHI

Marcedes Lewis, JAC

Visanthe Shiancoe, MIN….. 39/4?

See you next week,

Mark and Mason…
