Waiver Wire Pickups Week 8

Here are 5 Astute Waiver Wire Pick-Ups for Week 8 from FantasyFootballBlitz.com

QB Christian Ponder, Vikings:  It was only one week, but he played pretty well against a good team.  This week he goes up against the league's worst pass defense.  He'll do if you don't have options, even better if it's a keeper league.

RB Pierre Thomas, Saints:  Did you see what DeMarco Murray did to the Rams Defense last week?  With Mark Ingram banged up, Pierre Thomas can be a sneaky good start.  Even if Ingram plays, there should be enough to go around for more than one back against this "D."

RB Bernard Scott, Bengals:   Scott should have good numbers this week as the starter for Cincinatti.  True, it's only a one week gig for Scott, as Cedric Benson's suspension is only that long, but if you need a guy this week Scott is your man.

WR Antonio Brown, Steelers:  Last week, both Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown surpassed the hundred yard mark for Pittsburgh.  Brown is now the number 2 guy for the Steelers, as Hines Ward is more of a possesion receiver now.  The Steelers will have to pass early and often against New England on Sunday.  This and a generous Patriots defense makes Brown a good play.

RB Kregg Lumpkin, Buccaneers:  Lumpkin has not done anything yet to warrant picking him up.  This one is a hunch.  After Earnest Graham landed on IR this week, Lumpkin is the only RB in Tampa behind LeGarrette Blount, who is recovering from a knee injury.  Before long, Kregg Lumpkin could be starting in Tampa.
